JACKSON ELEMENTARY  SCHOOL
Located on West Jackson Street in an older residential part of the city, Jackson Elementary School is also one of the older schools in 549c. Built in 1911 along with nearly identical Roosevelt Elementary School, Jackson is a geeod example of the way older buildings can be adequately maintained for long years of service.

Major remodeling from 1996 to 1998 provided a new library-media center and cafeteria facilities. Remodeling of the ground floor area provides additional classroom space.

Enrollment is about 450 students. Jackson Elementary School students attend McLoughlin Middle School. Those students who live north of West Jackson Street attend North Medford High School, and those students who live south of West Jackson Street attend South Medford High School.

The school mascot is the Jaguar.

The school colors are Blue/White and Red.

The school newspaper is the Jagwire News.
