![]() As a mid high the school housed about 1400 freshmen and sophomores. Situated on 20 acres, the school also serves as home of the 549c Spiegelberg Stadium, Medford's football arena. A bond issue, approved by voters in 1980, served to remodel the facility to accommodate the district's second high school. In September 1986, it opened its doors as South Medford High School with a student population of about 1400 in grades 9-12, which has grown to about 1600 students. The school mascot is the Panthers. The school colors are Royal Blue and Silver Grey. The school newspaper is The South Paw.
