In the heart of the near-west side of central Medford, Washington Elementary School is one of the middle-aged schools (1931) in a densely populated older neighborhood. Its central location in the attendance area makes it within walking distance of its approximately 450 students.

Washington has a 6.5 acre site. In front of the building rests the mounted brass bell from the original Washington Elementary School, Medford's first brick school, formerly located where the county courthouse now stands. A library-media center was added in 1988. New classrooms and a computer room were added in 1996-97.

Washington students attend McLoughlin Middle hool and South Medford High School.

The school mascot is the Panther Cub.

The school colors are Blue and White.
