Sure, you've heard of Mark
Twain who spent a great deal of time writing for a local paper here at Virginia
City and you probably remember the Cartwrights talking about riding in
here on one of those Bonanza reruns. You may even recall something about
the Comstock Lode that brought millions of dollars of gold out of these
hills. To many people Virginia City holds a little bit of fame for a variety
of reasons. But if you are a fan of motorized vehicles the fame the city
holds comes in the form of the two times a year they close off the truck
road and open it up to some of the finest high-speed, road-going machinery
available. And if you're one of those people that have had the pleasure
to go up at death-defying speeds chances are you've been here more than
once as it is highly addictive.
